ESW - Modular Emergency System

Multi-Purpose Support Unit

The Multi-purpose Support Unit is designed for use in emergency and rescue situations when all other systems fail and can be operated completely independent. It consists of several modules which serve as electrical power supply, air compressor or fire-extinguishing pump:

  • Engine Module
  • Generator Module
  • Air Compressor Module
  • Pump Module

Coupling of the different modules with the all-purpose engine module is performed with a quick-action latch to allow for rapid switching according to the respective situational need. Each module is surrounded by a tubular frame with handles. For storage or for rigid installation, each module can be mounted on a shock-proof base frame. The modules are enclosed in easily removable covers to protect them from adverse weather conditions.

In use by the German Navy:

  • Frigates of classes F122, 123, 124
  • Corvettes
  • Tender boats
